Default Value of used 'scope ?

Hello,
Would like to start in the hobby.... and have been looking for a used
"decent" telescope !
I have been offered a Bresser, but have no idea if the "price is right" or
the quality.

The eyepieces seem to have a bayonet fitting, as opposed to the "normal"
drop in I have seem before, not sure on the model, but I do know its a 100mm
refractor.
Please see links to photos I took on my phone - lousy quality, but may give
a hint to the vintage/model/value ?
There are counter balance weights, and a couple of eyepieces...

Any advise, and thoughts please ?
Thanks

May well be interested too !

Got this one (at last... mates take forever to "move" !) turns out to be
quite a nice model, its an old Bresser 102mm "Uranus" and is built like a
tank - definitely NOT Aldi tat !

The mount was filled with the stickiest stuff on the planet... so washed it
all out with petrol, and replaced it with lighter stuff - its as smooth as a
smooth thing now.
Just need some clear skies ! :-(

Check with your local astronomy club, and any local stores dedicated to this
amazing hobby.
The local club will be happy to regail you with more information than you
can handle, especially if you ask them about their equipment, and then you
can check prices.

They'll probably also have good hints on where to buy. Shop around!

Looks suspiciously like one of the 70mm scopes available periodically
from LIDL for about £50.

Although cheap it doesn't seem to do too badly. The 100mm will be a bit
more expensive. Worth also looking in the back of Astronomy Now and the
online second hand lists. I have never seen one close to.
