ASTRO: great program to walk around Mars (incl screenshots)
Midnight Mars Browser ... that's how the program is called. It gathers shots
form the Rover missions (Opportunity and Spirit), puts them together and forms panoramic shots in which you can move around. Also anaglyphs are made. I rally love this (free) program: looking around on Mars in B/W and (false) colors (see attached screenshots). One negative thing: it downloads huge amounts of data to put the images together. I am now on almost 10 Gb and I still don't have it all ... but it's worth it :-) Info on http://midnightmarsbrowser.blogspot.com/ and download on http://code.google.com/p/midnightmarsbrowser/ ... there is not much info on it yet but it's great experimenting :-) It also now downloads Phoenix images yet as slideshow only. I think it's really, really cool :-)) Menno |
