Default Naked-eye sunspots

On Wednesday, we were covered with smoke from the SoCal wildfires. The sun
was a pale salmon pink ball and you could clearly see the two sunspot groups
responsible for the recent flares. I made sure my junior high students saw
this and explained what sunspots were. Last night it hit me- I have seen
naked eye spots a few times before, but never two groups at the same time.
Can anybody else remember seeing a double dose like this current one?
