There is so little astronomy being posted to this group that I am
starting to wonder if there is any point continuing to post here. Although the number of hits per day on my web site continues to climb the percentage of hits that come via Google groups has declined quite steeply in recent weeks. Perhaps amateur astronomers are moving away from the unmoderated mess that Google groups has become? Martin Nicholson Daventry, UK |

Dear ukastronomy:

I check your link every day, either from home or GG. Post here as long as it suits you. Although the number of hits per day on my web site continues to climb the percentage of hits that come via Google groups has declined quite steeply in recent weeks. Perhaps amateur astronomers are moving away from the unmoderated mess that Google groups has become? Separate issues, IMO. Any newsgroup has its "noise". Likely your posting here is what got you "indexed", to be found by others. As to the lack of hits from GG, you have been a little unresponsive to questions asked. I asked about visible vs. IR shots you had made, and the duration between them, regarding "movers". Someone just asked about "open clusters", and I did not see a response. Many hits from GG are "in response to" an "active" contributor... which may be more than you really want (considering those that commonly respond). Not many people respond to "Andrew Yee", and his postings are also invaluble to me. And as I said before, thank you. Stop when you are done with us. David A. Smith |
