Some years ago I read about what seemed to me a very interesting space
propulsion system, i.e. the VASIMR (Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket). Does anyone present know where the research project currently stands? According to Viki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variabl...oplasma_rocket More information on VASIMR: http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/V/VASIMR.html http://www.techbriefs.com/content/view/1768/32/ http://dma.ing.uniroma1.it/users/bruno/Petro.prn.pdf http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/shuttle/...pl/vasimr.html http://www.nasa.gov/vision/space/tra...ropulsion.html Regards to all, Einar |
