In central Florida. Obviously, the Cape, the new ( Since the
last time I was there ) Saturn V Museum, et al, but what of holes in the walls kinds of places that aren't on the Disney A list types of public places ? Some have been listed here before, but I didn't think to save those lists. Silly me. My trip is likely to start in a tad under two weeks. Thanks, Andre -- " I'm a man... But, I can change... Well, there's my boyhood home, schools I went to, a now abandoned supermarket I worked at for 8 years, and, actually ontopic...the first place I ever drank alcohol was at the entrance to KARS park. Seriously tho', find a beach access as far north as you can. You can see a few pads, including the one the last Atlas3B went from. -- This is a siggy | To E-mail, do note | This space is for rent It's properly formatted | who you mean to reply-to | Inquire within if you No person, none, care | and it will reach me | Would like your ad here |

Seriously tho', find a beach access as far north as you can. You can see a few pads, including the one the last Atlas3B went from. This would be north of the LC-39 area, or south of it ? Very south. I know the last Atlas launch was the first time I've been able to see the pad from the beach. I have no idea what the view from north of KSC is like, but do hit the Fat Boy's in Tidybowl for a good view of the VAB. You know, I just thought of something...I bet you can see the EELV pads from 528. I'll let y'all know next launch. :-) -- This is a siggy | To E-mail, do note | This space is for rent It's properly formatted | who you mean to reply-to | Inquire within if you No person, none, care | and it will reach me | Would like your ad here |

@FreeNet.Carleton.CA says... what of holes in the walls kinds of places that aren't on the Disney A list types of public places ? Although not technically a space thing, the highlight of my trip to Florida last spring was a joy ride in a WW-II training aircraft, a North American AT-6. Despite never having touched a control stick, they had me flying wing-overs, loops and other aerobatics within minutes of taking off. See http://www.warbirdadventures.com/ for details. If you do this, get the pictures. $20 for a short roll of film may seem steep, but the pictures are worth a lot more than what they cost. We started to do a Cuban Eight, but my stomach started complaining. Rather than getting airsick, we did some simple stable flying for a bit and I got in the pattern to land behind, so help me, a P-51. (The real pilot took over all the controls at this point.) If you've got the bucks, you can have a joyride in that P-51 from the same airport: http://www.stallion51.com/home.cfm At the same airport is a fascinating museum that restores old airplanes: http://www.warbirdmuseum.com/. This alone is worth the trip from Disney World. To get back on-topic: go to MGM/Disney and ride Tower of Terror. Short of renting the Vomit Comet, it is the best way most of us will have to experience Zero-G. Disney and Universal have something called Express Pass -- use it or spend hours waiting in line. Better yet, get and read The Unofficial Guide to Disney World. Follow its advice and save many many hours of waiting in line. I went to Universal's Men In Black ride and saw the sign that said the queueing time was two hours. Ninety minutes later, following the book's advice, I had ridden the ride three times! -- Kevin Willoughby lid Imagine that, a FROG ON-OFF switch, hardly the work for test pilots. -- Mike Collins |

There's the new "Space" centrifuge ride at EPCOT as well. They even have barf bags for your convenience. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guide...fw-mission.htm |
