Conditions were good enough to get an hours worth of data on this GC. I
have waited quite some time for a good opportunity to shoot this Messier
object so was happy to get this shot.

That came out well. I tried it and didn't like the results so never
processed it. Guess I should. Sometimes they end up better than I
think they are going to. A bit south for me. Anything with a south
declination is fuzzier than higher up. Globulars need good seeing like
you had. By -15 degrees nothing looks good and this guy is near that
declination.

Looks like you have a few galaxies in the background as well, one right
through the cluster.

Rick

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

It's low for me too... I get over a bunch of homes looking at that part of
the sky so I needed a good night before the heating season got started...
thus the wait. I see a lot of faint galaxies in the background when the
air is clear and moon is not in the sky.

Thanks!

Very good shot Doug. I have to admit that M72 is a total stranger to me, I
did not know that M72 is a globular cluster before I saw your image.

Hey Stefan.. happy you are back... I had this on the list for years marked
as a "cluster" so I thought it was an open cluster... got a bit confused
myself when the focus frame cam in...

Thanks for you comments on this and the other images..
