Default ASTRO: Mars 09-04-07

8 arcseconds is a difficult task for an 8 inch scope. Given the fact
conditions weren't all that great and dew was forming on my corrector plate,
I think I lucked out on my focus. Being half asleep didn't help much
either. Some pretty small details can be seen if you look closely.

I just couldn't get happy with that result I posted. Here is a reprocessed
version. Actually, less processing showed more, shaper detail.

I've never come close to that with more aperture and a much closer Mars.

Correct domain name is arvig and it is net not com. Prefix is correct.
Third character is a zero rather than a capital "Oh".

Now *that's* a great image!

When I looked at Mars 3 weeks ago I saw hardly any detail, other than the
gibbous shape.
