Default LX 200 memory battery question.

Being new to GoTo, I have had a really tough time with alignment. I was
trying to use a combination of Spica, Antares and Alkaid as those were the
three most visible stars from my backyard. Anyhow, I finally figured out
that I had put in GMT +5 instead of +4 to allow for DST and thought that
would solve my problems. When I went back into the menu to change the
timezone, I found that all of the times and zones had reset themselves.
After finding that, I decided to try changing out the memory battery but I
still lose my time, position and timezone when I disconnect power. Any
thoughts as to what may cause this?

The scope is a 10" LX200 Classic.
