http://www.narrowbandimaging.com/ngc...2_map_page.htm there are at least three objects that are deemed to be uncataloged. There were two or three in the IC1396 one from a couple of days ago.... this is a very productive area and good technique for finding uncatalogued objects, particularly planetaries but also clusters.\ rdc |

![]() "Richard Crisp" wrote there are at least three objects that are deemed to be uncataloged. There were two or three in the IC1396 one from a couple of days ago.... Richard, Neat!! I'll keep a copy of this and try imaging some of these guys. Have you tried looking for this stuff in the digitized sky survey? You may find the latest version of IRIS interesting. It adds a routine to morph wide-field images to a star catalog and the map projection of your choice, and add a RA/Dec grid. It will also mosaic several images into a large "star map" type image. I believe that in the FIT file format it adds the plate solution so that for any spot you click on you get the ra/dec. Clear skies, George Normandin |
