Default A dark sky tonight!

If you live on the East Coast, tonight will be the first night in weeks that
we will likely have a cloudless sky. If you live in NYC, you get a special
bonus, as city was just struck with a power outage. At the moment, it seems
like this will be a major outage and power may not be restored anytime soon.
So, dust off the telescopes! It will be clear and dark tonight...it may
also be hot without A/C.

But it also means thousands of people are stuck in elevators and in subways.
It's also the hottest day of the year in many of the affected cities.

Now that's making lemonade.

It's definitely premature to already claim that day will be the
hottest day of the year! We cannot rule out even hotter days within
the next weeks or so. So wait a month or two before making such
a judgement.

Did you ever hear of a battery powered laptop? That's what I'm using these
days.

Of course, but does your ISP (or your phone company) have UPS ?

Have to chime in here . Unless the wires go down the phone system will
always work that is if you have a corded phone not a cordless. That
and a laptop will get you online till your laptop battery goes out. I use
to work in the phone company central office and they make they can go for
days .
