How do the Tal reflector telescopes to Orion Reflectors when considering value
for money?

Given the choice between a Tal 6" reflector and the Equivalent Orion Optics
telescope which one would you choose, and why?

Thanks for advice.

I can't comment on the Orion, I've never used one. However, a friend has
a TAL and it's a very well made scope for the money. My friend says it's
built like a T34 tank. I've seen some wonderful things through it.

Damn sures it is, I'd bet on it up against a Tiger...!

TAL is quality though. I'm a newbie-ish amateur and I have no problems with
it. Only problem I have is light pollution, oh and the feckin trees in my
garden!

I wondered why my Tal 100R is so bloody heavy. Now I know. Next time I see
a T34 thrashing across the Eastern front on some WW2 programme I'll wonder
if it's gun barrel is now part of my telescope.
