There has been heated discussion as to whether the author is being
obnoxiously sexist or just funny!

Never saw "Life of Brian"?

No, actually I haven't. Is that the key to it?

BTW, 2 notes from Boston:

I saw our friend Todd Gross on TV. He's the Channel 7 meteorologist.

Michael,

And I take no responsibility for the record-breaking cold weather. Does
Todd?

In fact there was a recent thread on one of the Yahoo lists (SBIG?)
about how low one should take their CCD camera and chip when the ambient
temperature is already this cold. Unless I am mistaken, the general
consensus was around -25-deg C max (ie. absolute and not relative to the
ambient temperature) or otherwise one will risk cracking the chip.

Imagine being in -30-deg C weather ... CCD cooling? Who needs it? :-)

Anthony.

Prison guard spits in Brian's face.

Brian to old man (another prisoner), "He just spat in my face!"

Old man, "What wouldn't I give to be spat at in the face. I sometimes
lie awake at night, dreaming about being spat at in the face. The
Romans must think the sun shines out your ass!"

Elsewhere, Centurion, to another old man..."You could be crucified."

Old man answers, "Well it could be worse."

Centurion..."Worse? How could it be worse. Crucifixion's a horrible
way to die."

Old man answers..."Well, you could be stabbed."

And then, there's Bigus Dicus...

You don't know what you've missed.
