Oh, I forgot the first five seasons (or so ) of SG-1. Farscape
was good, but not great. Don't get me wrong, I watched them
and enjoyed them. But I have no desire to watch them again.

One of the things I loved about Farscape was its
unpredictability. Watching it again would kill that. On the
other hand, I do find Firefly rewatchable.

B5, now. . .

Agreed Firefly is rewatchable. Don't think B5 is rewatchable
(some episodes are, but not the series). Same opinion on
TNG(not). TOS is almost infinitely rewatchable. DS9 is mostly
rewatchable.

At my age of 78, soon to be 79, nothing is rewatchable!
I can't afford to waste time.

First run for the rest of your days, eh? I'm afraid there isn't that
much watchable stuff in that regard, either.

Depends how much he's seen already.

He only has a (very) few years on me, and I seldom rewatch TV shows. I
have a lot of books that are rereadable, however: you forget many of the
details if you let them rest 20-30 years. TV shows that old really
tend to suffer from modern comparisons, quite apart from their generally
transparent plot lines and cardboard characters(a fault even the good
ones have compared to a 500-page book)

Played by an actual actress! My favorite Bond movie is hers, too,
though there are a couple other reasons for that, too.

I really wish she'd done a Connery.

It would have been an interesting match-up 8-)

You know, those sound like the words of somebody who has never watched
beyond Season 1 of B5. When I first read your comment, I thought you
were somebody who has seen the entire show (Seasons 1 thru 5 and the
movies), but upon revisiting it, didn't find it rewatchable, and was
going to stop at Season 1, ....but now that appears to not be the case.

I watch all five seasons once, when they showed.

Why would I have an opinion on a show I didn't watch or stopped watching.

It doesn't get rolling until towards the end of season 2

I agree it starts rolling downhill.

What an utterly ridiculous comment, *exactly* 180 degrees out of phase
with
reality. Do yourself a favor and take B5 Season 1 back, or sell it
used. Then, take the money and buy a DS9 novel or something.

Buying B5 Season 1 and then stopping there, is unthinkable.

Clearly it's not unthinkable. I not only thought it I did it. You must
have a very narrow view of the world, if your view is the only valid one.

It's like the Jeep slogan ("It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't
understand."). It's a B5 thing, you wouldn't understand.

Why would anybody buy the first fifth of a novel, stop right there,
permanently, and then keep that part of the novel?

I liked the first season. I didn't like the rest of it very much (there
were moments I liked and hours I didn't). Unlike your example, I CAN
buy the first season and not the rest. Books you can't just buy the
first section. If it makes you feel better to believe I read the novel
and ripped the first five chapters out and kept them. While throwing
away the rest of the novel. I don't see how it makes a difference to me.

It's just that it appears counter to the general consensus that Seasons
1 and 5 of Babylon 5 were the weakest, and that the show got better and
better up through Season 4 before tailing off in the first half of
Season 5 and then coming back stronger in the second half of Season 5.
You're the first person I've ever encountered in 12 years of being
online discussing B5, who thought that Season 1 was the best, the most
worthwhile season, and the only B5 DVD set worth having.

Because the novel was terrible, but they're a pack rat.
