Just wondering .. about mode?

the explosive bolts are designed to fail, the liftoff force is strong
enough to ake the bolts fail.

otherwise a non releasing bolt would be its own accident causing risk

hate to pile on the morbid thought.. but don't the range-safety charges
simply split the casings of the SRB so the thrust isn't directed? the fuel
will still burn off... ?

No, pressure is required to sustain the burn and splitting the casing causes
the pressure to drop.
