Battle of the Sidewalk ][

Well it had to happen:

I went up to my set up place and parked across the steet and about
6pm or so started setting up. Now today the Foster Freeze was having
their car show deal, but I've been there on the corner every year for
6 years. I had put the rocker box down and had gotten the OTA and was
just putting it on and putting the straps on when I noticed this guy
just burning up the sidewalk heading my way. Yep, it was the FF owner
and frist thing he says is "Your NOT setting up now or ever more
here", So I set up anyway, he said he'd call the cops, I told him to
go ahead. He did, and they came, they talked, they talked to me, all
they could do was "Suggest" I move, I said NO. He then complained my
truck was parked by no parking sign, ( sign says ON PAVEMENT ) So I
moved it where he couldn't say a word. His last words to me, " You
hard ass, I'm going to court and get an injunction to keep you from
setting up on MY sidewalk ".

I spent the rest of the time there, before dark was handing out stuff
from JPL, and when dark, started showing Jupiter off to everyone.

So now I will on monday call up the county rep for this area and talk
to him about it, plus I'll fire off some letters to the Editors of
newspapers around the area.

What get's me, I've been setting up there for 6 years now, and only
within the last few months have they noticed me at all, he says he's
owned the place for 15 years and I've not been there for 6 years, yet,
even tonight, I had people show up that remember seeing and coming
those 6 years ago.
