I had some unregistered guns. Unregistered because they were bought
by mail order back in the 50's before registration was required, and
Oregon has no law that you have to register guns just because you have
them. But as soon as I sold them to the gunshop, they had to
immediately enter them into the police database.

They could always accuse that "one honest official" as being part of a
terrorist sleeper cell (no actual objective evidence required), and
that way DHS would do all the dirty work, similar to their getting
