Doubt that.. The competition from Skywatcher and Celestron is finally hitting
the market place..

It just doesn't get much better than that.

Rumor has it our little buddy from Calgary has been eyeballing a Meade
ETX-125 with Autostar Crustacean for Christmas.

That or a new pair of 15x50 Nikon Barnacles.

Only an IDIOT would make some kind of wild speculation on someone
they know nothing about. That is mind boggling!

Exactly - both of which appear to be well under the $500 mark.
Sounds like a pretty smart move from Orion.

I hear the Celestron has a rack and pinion focuser, as opposed to
Orion and Skywatcher's umm... "crawfish"? ;-) I don't see it taking
off quite as well if the others are available at less or equal cost.

I ordered my Orion a couple of weeks ago, just after the price
dropped to EUR 499 here in Europe. That'll probably come back to
bite me if the sale/price reduction filters over this way...

I tried one of those but the view was so narrow, I got a bad case of Carpel
tunnel vision.

This newsgroup has become incredibly entertaining of late! BTW, ask Jan
Owen: I came up with "Crayfish" quite some time ago.

Yes. That's true. And once properly prepared, it was delicious!
