Best, Stephen Having sold hundreds of viewers from Astromedia, with Baader filter material, it was a tremendous relief to find that Venus was easy to see. I had about 10 different types left over from 1999 and, while I thought the Baader was a tad bright, it was easier to see Venus with them than any of the others. Once children actually saw it and it does require a bit of calm concentration not a snatch view, I could have sold another 500 pairs (but didn't have any more, damnit). Thanks everyone. This is doing nothing for my post-transit blues :-) but at least I have the consolation that the weather here was beautifully sunny, so I did see the whole thing with optical aid. |

Last year I bought an A4 sheet and made a filter for my Mak and gave my Father the left over strip for his bins. This year I got two more sheets ( a month or more ago so the clouds would have time to disperse) one of which I stuck to a shoe box lid to make a screen for my new bins (Canon 15x50 IS they are wonderful) and also to use for naked eye observations. The other sheet was to make a new filter for my Mak and one for my SLR. As the original Mak filter was still OK I ended up selling the rest to two other club members. -- Roger 52:54:41N 01:30:05W Orion 127mm Maksutov. |
