Help!! My ISP, AKA the assholes at AT&T, have removed ALL binary
newsgroups because they're supposedly trying to combat child porn. Is
there a way to continue to see the pictures in
alt.binaries.pictures.astro without going to a pay service? My other
options of course are to dump AT&T (seriously considering) or sign up
for Giganews for an additional $25/month.

As a long-time poster of images in a.b.p.a I'm pretty convinced that
it's time to move on and find another forum (other than a club or
personal website) to post my astro images. Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure why you think that George.........

Steve,

Thanks to all of the big ISPs dropping "alt.bin" NGs, or usenet
entirely, I think that 90% of the people who read a.b.p.a will be gone.
There doesn't seem much sense in posting to a group with few readers. That's
too bad because over the last 6 to 8 years there has been a great
'community' of folks posting and reading there. There was a lot of good
content. For years there was an a.b.p.a 'mirror' website (mysky.com), that
worked fine, but alas, the guy who was running it disappeared.

I have a friend who has started to use flickr, but that solution loses the
sense of community that had built up in a.b.p.a. Maybe it would work.

There's another source for a.b.p.a. posts on the web, George:
