Mook's online behavior - the conspiracy theories and the sudden
bizarre rants against phantom strawmen, among others - makes me
question his sanity.

Watch the Showtime show "Penn & Tellers Bull****!" There are lots of
people out there wou would seem to be harmlessly deluded about
whatever, and so long as they convince nobody but themselves that
might be true. But if they can convince other people, they can cause
serious propblems. Investors, for example, can lose large sums of
money because they were convince by a proper-sounding stream of
nonsense.

I don't agree with all Mook says but he makes much more sense than do
most of the posters here, and for that reason, I do listen to what he
says. I'm convinced *far outside the box* is what we very much need in
this world today, but terribly few of us can do it. And then talk about
it in any useful way. The problem is not Mook's words, it's the
ignorant noise of others who think they accomplish something worthwhile
as they rummage in the litter at the bottom of *this* box.

It's a little work to do better than *that*. I'm setting my thinking
about space policy to words in my http://www.mhada.info. I believe
working at this may improve the mind, or at least a few sensitivities.
For instance, I hear the Big Money experts saying, "An iceberg hit our
ship." Funny! Or, read up on the many ways our Terra can perish and us
all with it (assuming some crank with big tech doesn't accomplish that
first). Not so funny. Along the way, I have my own ideas about who is
deluded, harmlessly or not.
