Hmm... you may be on to something there... waning interest in space
newsgroups may be due to the fact that they are not addressing their
primarily male audience's interest in sex.
Possibly a new binary space newsgroup concerned with taking photos of
female astronauts and cosmonauts, and using Photoshop to graft their
heads onto the bodies of porn actresses in erotic scenes would be popular.
Such composite photos would need to be accompanied by witty
space-related titles, such as "Hey, big boy, it's time for re-entry!" or
"Now that's what I call a _hard_ docking!".
As an alternative, maybe a new female audiance for space newsgroups
could be found by portraying photos of male astronauts and cosmonauts as
romantic vampires of some sort. Since the photos may incorporate starry
nights and the Moon already, the addition of some clouds and a castle
could give them a great Goth atmosphere.
There is also the gay space audiance to address, and "Queer Eye For The
Straight Spaceship" could be a big hit as a website, particularly given
the fact of the phallic shape of most rocket boosters.
Picture a Delta IV booster...now picture a pastel pink Delta IV booster
with a payload of white satin throw pillows that a exquisite little lap
dog rides atop of into orbit... a lap dog with a designer collar on that
just screams: "I'm a little space bitch diva, aren't I? And you know
what? I am....and I know it!".
The possibilities are endless.
