I am thinking of buying some Cameras for general and astro use, with the
possibility I can offer them to astronomers too.. Which ones do people think are the best for the job, both astronomy & as a general camera? 10DA springs to mind? Are any of these any good to offer to astro-photographers?? The prices would be good too. Let me know your thoughts on them Sony A200 DSLR Sony Alpha A350 SLR Nikon D60 SLR NikonD80 NikonD300 Sony Alpha 700 SLR Olympus SP570UZ DSLR Samsung DSLR Cameras Nikon D40 18-55mm DSLR Kit Canon EOS 450D Digital SLR Thanks for your help and input Andy Mr Andrew R Green BSc(Hons) FBIS, FRAS Fellow British Interplanetary Society Fellow Royal Astronomical Society Director & Lecturer, StarDome - Astronomy & Astronautics Director Anglo-Australian Astro Education Partnership |

All in all its a good camera, I don't have any faults with it. You can see some images taken with it here http://www.dasmirnov.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=15 - most are with the 350D, but planetary stuff is with a webcam. The long exposure stuff through a telescope is done a TAL 2M, which has seen better days when it was slightly more steady. -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK. If you can get hold of some second hand Canon 300D's and get them modified they still give good results and might be an affordable alternative to the higher end cameras. Just a thought as I'm still using my 300D and am going to get it modified after using COAA's recently modified camera and getting good results with it. Best wishes Paul M -- For my web site - Astrospace go to http://www.astrospace.co.uk For Astro holidays that are outathis world go visit the following: Fieldview http://www.fieldview.net/ COAA (Algarve) http://www.coaa.co.uk/index.html |

The Idea will be to supply brand new cameras and then let the people that
buy them get them modified as they wish. Hope things are going well Paul Cheers & all the best Andy Mr Andrew R Green BSc(Hons) FBIS, FRAS Fellow British Interplanetary Society Fellow Royal Astronomical Society Director & Lecturer, StarDome - Astronomy & Astronautics Director Anglo-Australian Astro Education Partnership |
