The Messier Ten Minute Challenge

M107 - Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus

Discovered by Méchain in 1782 M107 (NGC 6171) seems to contain some
dark regions. This is unusual for globular clusters. As its distance
is about 21000 light years it has a diameter of roughly 80 light
years.
