many countries privatized the trains while the rails remains public

Socialist?

there is no reason that something similar won't happen with NASA

NASA doesn't build rockets, Boeing and Lock-Mart do. Sure NASA manages
them to the smallest detail, but since no one build rockets as off-the-
shelf items just yet, then perhaps NASA realized that the managment
style it uses is required in order to get the results it needs.

Do you honestly think that NASA wouldn't love to be able to get out of
the rocket management business anymore than it did when it was able to
get out of the computer prototyping business with the advent of the
mini and micro computer markets started booming.

Commercial jets coming in and out of Andrews Air Force Base?

if your example will really happen, this base could be used (e.g.) for
suborbital flights

The point is that there are plenty of private airports around that a
DOD airport, as Andrews is, doesn't need to be used for commecial
spaceflight.

Build a SSTO HOTOL and you'd have more places than you know to use
without having to bother NASA or the government. In fact, I bet they
be a huge customer.

Mercenary warfare, both overtly and covertly, respectively.

possible, but unrealistic... with NASA a private company can't do
these bad things...

What? What do you think Blackwater and its related scandal was all
about? Are you really this naive?

Blackwater to the CIA is what NASA is WRT to what you want to create
by "selling" NASA.
