SPELLING CORRECTED (Sorry)
Our nearest neighbours - 61 CYG 61 CYG, sometimes called Bessel's Star - Currently in 14th place This is a binary system made up of a K5 and a K7 star at a distance of 11.36 light years. The long period variable v471 Cyg is noteworthy because it is so much redder in IR than in G light. This is almost always the case with variable stars of this type and is perhaps a possible method for detecting previously uncatalogued examples. htp://www.martin-nicholson.info/close/61cyg.htm Martin Nicholson, Daventry, England. http://www.martin-nicholson.info/1/1a.htm Visit the Astronomical Hall of Shame at http://www.geocities.com/queen5658/ |
