Set up my telescope and camera ready for the approach and guess what heavy
cloud at the crucial time, left feeling 'what a hobby to choose, all that preparation for nothing'. Come the re-emergence of Venus I was walking the dog at a local field binoculars in hand, and was amazed that Venus could be seen with the naked eye, attached to the lunar crescent. Lots of people were drawn to finding out what I was looking at and many were captivated, even those who referred to it as 'the big nipple in the sky'. It is a wonderful hobby after all. Jerry G. |
