I can't speak for Richard, but I'd like to know what you mean my
"physics people". If you mean "have degree(s) in physics", "attend
university studying physics" or "teach physics", then I'm not a
"physics person".

What I am is a person who's interested in physics. I've been told by
people who hold actual degrees that I have equivalent knowledge in
many fields, but that's their opinion.
