Apologies for my ignorance, but is that Venus in the south west tonight ? It's HUGE ! It's certainly bright, and it's an optical illusion that makes it seem huge. In fact, unless your eyesight is extrememly good it's no bigger than a star. I think Patrick Moore once did an experiment on Sky at Night to see if anyone could see the phase, and only one person showed real evidence that they could. |
