Default Can you recommend a tripod.

I have a W.O. Megrez 80, for which I built a permanent GEM, set in
concrete, with a Bartels drive and it works well.
Trouble is, it takes so long to set up that we hardly ever use it. I'd like
to get a tripod that would sit inside the house with the telescope attached
so that spur-of-the-moment observing is possible again. I want something
that is robust. Anything I can buy locally is flimsy and has a rubbery feel.
To buy anything that is a bit more ambitious would be mail orderl, sight
unseen, and risky. Based on the massed experience available in this group,
what tripod should I look for? Probably as important, what should I avoid?
I'm only going to do this once, so I am willing to pay what it is worth.
Whatever I buy, it should be able one day to handle something as large as,
say an eight-inch SCT.
Thank you from a long-time lurker.

HI:

I don't know if you'd consider it overkill or not, but the WO EZ Touch
might be just the thing.
