I am pleased to announce the availability of Deepsky version 2007.01.01 on
July 4th, 2006.

Which type of Past Deepsky user are you?

One that upgrades each time? If you are currently running version
2006.01.01, then this will be a free upgrade (note: that this does not
include the AstroCard add-on CD available separately through George Kepple)
for you and will be available in a few days on my website.

Upgrades occasionally? If you havent upgraded for a while, this upgrade CD
will cost $20 or the 3-set DVD will cost you $45.

For the most part, this is a small upgrade for users who currently use
version 2006.01.01, however if you haven't upgraded in a while, you will see
that Deepsky has tons of new features over the version you have. The
download update will be available in a few days and will upgrade you from
2006.01.01 to 2007.01.01. If you have an older version, you will need to
upgrade to the new CD or DVD version.

Changes over the 2006.01.01 SP2a version include the following:

NEW: Support for George Kepple AstroCard star charts (requires the AstroCard
addon CD ROM). This new addon CD available separately from George Kepple
for around $15 will add some exciting new functionality to Deepsky. In
order for this add-on CD to work, you will need to be at version 2007.01.01
in Deepsky. The add-on will not work on older versions of Deepsky.

NEW: Home Menu puts common tasks on one screen. Replaced welcome screen
with the Home Menu. Beginning users will appreciate this new screen.

NEW: Star Chart Create Wizard - An easy way to create a star chart with a
custom list of objects.

NEW: Added telescope tips to the option bar which give an overview of what
to look for when buying a telescope.

FIX: Updated image of M21

A new add-on companion CD to Deepsky has been released by George Kepple,
Coauthor of "The Night Sky Observer's Guide", that integrates an electronic
version of his very popular AstroCard star charts into Deepsky version
2007.01.01. This companion CD is expected to sell for only $15 and is
available through Bob's website on or before July 4, 2006

Here is a run down on the new functionality of the add on CD

1) View astrocard from the object details screen
2) Added astrocard ID to the main spreadsheet screen
3) Added Display AstroCard to the right click menu
4) Added Print AstroCard to the right click menu
5) AstroCard display screen includes other objects cross referenced on the
astrocard.
6) View images of objects on the astrocard.
7) Cross reference to Observing notes.

Product Activation No Longer Required - Effective in Service Pack 2a for
version 2006.01.01 and following versions of Deepsky, product activation is
no longer required. We found that product activation while useful in
fighting piracy caused additional support issues and was expensive to
maintain. We therefore have removed it. If you are a user of version
2006.01.01, you can download SP2a from our website to remove activation from
the software.
