Hoyle, Shockley to name but two... If you're referring to Sir Fred's excursions into viruses from space and Archaeopteryx, I'm not convinced they were anything more than embarrassing. They didn't destroy the reputation he earned as an astrophysicist (even if was apparently wrong about the Steady State). |
