@news02.roc.ny: Will there be exterior cameras on the tank, boosters, or orbiter operating during launch this time? Yes. The four cameras used the last flight will be used. One in the ET LO2 feedline fairing, one in the orbiter's ET umbilical well, and one at each SRB forward attach point. There are also four new cameras, one on each SRB aft attach point and one on each SRB forward skirt, all aimed at the orbiter wing leading edges. -- JRF Reply-to address spam-proofed - to reply by E-mail, check "Organization" (I am not assimilated) and think one step ahead of IBM. |

Do you know if those cameras are available for public viewing during launch or if they'll release the footage afterward? |

On the last flight, the umbilical well camera and the SRB forward attach cameras weren't available until later. I don't know if the new SRB cameras support live downlink. -- JRF Reply-to address spam-proofed - to reply by E-mail, check "Organization" (I am not assimilated) and think one step ahead of IBM. |

SpaceflightNow.com had them a day or so after launch, but you have to sign up for their Pro service. Brian |
