I was just wondering, if stood on relatively flat ground on the Moon and
Mars, how far away the horizon would be?

Calculable in URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/astron-1.htm#Hor, if
you know the circumferences of the bodies and the height of the viewer's
eyes. Note that input boxes can be given expressions.

For eyes at height 1.70 m, and mine are close to that (from the floor
being stood on), I get, roughly,

Earth 4.65 km, Moon half that, Mars about 3.4 km - but I've approximated
the sizes.

Roughly, Distance = SquareRoot (Height * Diameter)

For a US-person, H ~ 0.001, D ~ 8000, so Hz ~ 2 root2 miles away.
