Scaled Composites Hiring Spaceship Builders
By Leonard David, 24 February 2006, 06:59 am ET http://www.space.com/news/060224_rutan_hiring.html If you’re looking to get your hands dirty and be on the ground floor of public space travel, you might touch base with one of the leading spaceline builders. Scaled Composites in Mojave, California is in the deep design stage of a fleet of commercial suborbital spaceships and launch aircraft. They are also in recruitment mode to find the right talent to build the commercial spaceships for the new industry of private spaceflight. -- end excerpt -- -- rk, Just an OldEngineer "The number of people having any connection with the project must be restricted in an almost vicious manner. Use a small number of good people." -- Kelly Johnson in Skunk Works |

I thought the interesting part was: Rutan said that his company hires individuals from all kinds of backgrounds, not just the normal "aerospace pool". which is something that some alt.space-minded folk have been saying for a long time (Rutan has been building flying things for a long time too, so I'm not trying to make a statement about who gave the idea to who). |
