There were risk assessments for Apollo. And, as we are all aware, various
risk assessments for Space Shuttle missions. Has a quantitative risk assessment of a Soyuz mission been published? -- rk, Just an OldEngineer "The number of people having any connection with the project must be restricted in an almost vicious manner. RK,
Jim Oberg might have something. I know he did some work for NASA doing risk assessments of Soyuz quite a bit ago. I have not read anything particularly quantitiative or comparitive, but Mr. Oberg did publish an interesting essay of some of Soyuz issues he uncovered while doing that work. One I recall, was a landing uncomfortably near a school house. John |

My study was for landing reliability only -- and maybe it's
time to post the results on my website. It's dated, but reliability hasn't gotten any better in the last ten years. "John" wrote in message ups.com... RK, Jim Oberg might have something.
