There have been reports of 1, possibly 2, fireballs seen within the last
couple of days. Has anyone observed anything like this, please?

You should also keep an eye on uk.sci.weather, where I and at least one
other have reported fireballs in the last few weeks. Unfortunately there
isn't AFAIK a clear place to report or discuss such phenomena in the UK.
Mike

There is indeed a site to which you may report, run by the Society for
Popular Astronomy [SPA]. Go to their page (http://www..popastro.com)
and then to SectionMeteors where you will find information on
fireballs and how and where to send your reports.
Alastair will welcome reports; as much detail as possible will help him
to plot possible tracks.

Thanks for your interest,
