... Hiya, I noticed a very bright twinkling object in a south - westerly direction from where I live in Essex which was at roughly the same height in the sky as mars (north - west 11.30pm). Any ideas please? Many thanks - Dave B Probably Sirius, the brightest star in the sky (omitting the Sun from the list). Rises in the SE, very bright, twinkles (flashes all colours if you look closely). This question is asked several times every year, and this is usually the right answer. -- Mike Dworetsky (Remove "pants" spamblock to send e-mail) |
