Sue S&T, not me if you go blind! I would have had a go but the weather isn't going to play ball. Inferior conjunction is at 23h59mUT on the 13th I think so it would have been tricky to have caugut it at the correct time anyway. ;-) Still 5.5 degrees is a pretty big gap. Would be interesting to see the crescent rotate with respect to the Sun as it passed from evening - through conjunction - morning skies. My best to date is 2.75 degrees. http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/recent/...60604_1523.jpg but this was done with a failsafe in place. If my drives had stopped while attempting to grab this one, the Sun would have drifted away from the field of view. I think James Young has the record with a capture at 1.5 degrees (I'm working from memory now) a number of years back.
