Slightly OT - a review of "Great Observatories of the World" by Serge Brunier & Anne-Marie Langrange - Firefly Books ISBN 1-55407-055-4 will appear sometime early this year in BAA Journal. Covers the full electromagnetic spectrum [not just visual!] both on and off earth in full colour.

It supplements the 1982 B&W "Observatories of the World" by Siegfried Marx & Werner Pfau - Blandford Press ISBN 0-7137-1191-4. Both contain ob location maps and co-ords. Hope that helps.
