In fact IMO the 740 is the better bet as the USB cable is longer. You will need a eyepiece adapter. An IR blocking filter is useful to help get the colours right and to minimise atmospheric chromatic abberation and is essential if you are using an achromatic refractor, though the filter on the back of the lens could be removed and pressed into service, mounted at the bottom of the adapter at a pinch. Thanks Robin. I ordered a Toucam Pro II this morning and already have an eyepiece adapter and IR Blocking filter. I offered the adapter away free a few months ago and the chap didn't seem to want it. How fortunate for me.. Looking forward to seeing what this can do, if I can get a decent night I'll post some comparison images between the LPI and Toucam. Regards Chris |
