To me, this "settlers on mars"-thingie is nothing to be taken serious.
IF I had the money to invest, I wouldn't

Someone used the Gobi Desert as an example: it's a thousand times
more hospitable and a million times cheaper to get to, with about the
same level of resources available to exploit. How come there are
no commercial ventures to "colonise" it?
(Ans. because it's not a viable proposition)
