Default planet venus?

I live in Essex and have noticed a small object which sits close to the
moon;Is this venus?

The moon's position changes rapidly compared to the planets. What you
saw over the last day or so would have been the planet Jupiter. You will
see Venus further to the West than Jupiter.

of the moon and Jupiter (which is what you saw), from Norbert Rumiano
