What is your definition of worship? per dictionary.com wor·ship (wûrshp) n. 1. a. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object. b. The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed. 2. Ardent devotion; adoration. 3. often Worship Chiefly British. Used as a form of address for magistrates, mayors, and certain other dignitaries: Your Worship. Well for most definition #1 is relavent as it pertains to some diety or sacred object. Definition #2 can relate to some in that one can have a devotion to a thing or a practice. When one who runs daily this in some sense is a person devoted to the run. The practice gives them a great deal of satisfaction and comfort. This deep devotion to a daily ritual of running could in a sense be a form of worship. Other examples are abound that are quite similar in nature. james |
