I found this link today on BoingBoing.net. More way-cool rollout pics,
taken with a Nikon D2X. You really, really never see detail like this
from PAO images. :-/

And I thought me D70 looked good...

They did. They still do. We love ours and shot about two dozen
exposures tonight, albeit of nothing as exciting as a shuttle rollout.
:-)

But then I got to shoot it from inside the VAB

Lucky *******!

That D2X is a helluva camera. When I was looking into which camera I wanted
to get I lusted for it, heavily. At nearly 5 grand that's all it was
though - lust.

Yeah, I could buy the new high-end Martin guitar I just ordered and
still have enough left over for the D70. :-)

Ah, a fine guitar that.
I had a prof who was a Martin player and in his exams he always had a
"Buck's Trivia" question and in one he asked Where are Martin Guitars made.
Not knowing Pa I answered "the Martin Guitar Factory". I was just going for
the cheap laugh.

Indeed. The one I've ordered is a 000-42 in sunburst. A bit on the
spendy side but I've wanted one for a long time.

Nazareth, PA, since the early 19th century. New York City for couple
decades before that, beginning in 1833. And C.F. Martin (the 1st)
worked for a good deal of time as an apprentice and shop master for
another builder named Stauffer in Europe before that. For more Martin
info and trivia than you can shake a stick at, drop by the Unofficial
Martin Guitar Forum sometime.
