I should think science fiction writers could have a field day

speculating on
this- are they doing so? I haven't read sci fi in decades so I don't

Just fantasizing, but I can imagine future being very impacted by

I'm a SciFi writer and I have not yet decided if I will include
theories of dark matter/energy yet. I did read a nice trilogy a couple
of years ago called, "Dark Matters". It is within the Star Trek Voyager
series. I can't say that I really agreed with it, I don't, but it was
the first that I had seen anyone writing about, what we really were not
yet talking about. I find the whole subject fascinating, and certainly
see the futuristic ideas of embracing they power held within dark
energy.

i'd say that you'd be pretty safe writing about dark matter. as far as dark
energy goes, it is still really in the "ether" stage of it's theoretical
life.
