Im moving down to Yorkshire from Newcastle and am hoping to take advantage
of some dark skies in the area once I have moved as my present location of North Shields is rubbish. Where would be the best place to go to observe in dark skies? -- Regards Nats "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it." |

According to the Dark Skies map (and I'm not saying that this accurate!), the Skipton area is far enough from the heavy light pollution of Greater Manchester / Leeds / Bradford. If you really want to remove yourself from civilisation, head further north into the Dales. |

Hi All
I'm the Treasurer of the Bradford Astonomy Society. I thought you might like to know that we observe in Rawdon, on a Thursday night. Indeed Skipton way does alot of difference. Nat's if your interested we're having an open day at Eccleshill Library (in bradford) on the 22nd, it's an all day event. If you'd like more information please feel free to send me an e-mail.
