In the clear, dark, Montana sky last night (January 11/12) was a
vivid, relatively bright, green auroral glow. The aurora was visible as a long, broad, low dome along the northern horizon with its high point in the direction of magnetic north. Comet Machholz was near the zenith well above the aurora glow and easily visible to the naked eye as a little, fuzzy spot. Sketcher To sketch is to see. |
