We thought the horizon at the edge of the ocean was it. (The sky was
abstract too, I guess).
Then we crossed it and thought... no, thats not it, um.. space! Space is
it. the final frontier.
Then scientists said `well purely, there is an edge to that too, so to
speak.
Universal bubble. Simulacrum of infinity where once a new economy of
mind was to belong.
Sigh.. disappointment.. dejection.. my last splinter of an ideal.. that
scientists might be saying
that our `infinite universe` might be not much larger than our
mathematics or worse, just slightly
outside the current range of our telescopes.
It just pathetically repeats like an Atari game when your plane goes off
the screen and reenters from the other side.
Its fake. Its all done with mirrors.
Once I`d glibly thought that there was an absolute and perfect answer to
our cramped quarters here on this rock,
and theyre saying `well, practically absolute.. believe me.. space is
big.. really big.. its functionally infinite..
you know, for our purposes.. but as God`s own infinite perfection? No,
slightly imperfect in that sense.`
In fact anything finite that is viewed within the infinite is just as
trivial as anything else. Relativity or not.
But dont worry! Its ALL equally finite and therefor equally trivial
now! So dont get all Freudian envious about it.
You scientists should stop pulling the rug out from under our
vastnesses.
The `trivial` used to be infinite too! What next? A final indivisible
particle?

Any disagreement on this? Cause no matter what the disagreement, you
will automatically be awarded the Nobel prize
for understatement.
