I thought the art direction - the jiggly camera work etc stank, as with so much TV science. You can still treat it as a radio program. I thought he looked at times suspiciously like the talking head computer in Red Dwarf YMMV. Personally I thought it was far too 'posey'; Martin Rees doing a Saruman impersonation, leaning forward - just so, and pausing before each word. Eugh! The luvvies insist on doing something to make it "interesting" they fear that otherwise remote control buttons get pressed and ad revenue falls. I much preferred the simple language and relevant visuals that came with the Light Fantastic series that ended tonight. Good solid scientific history too. I gave up on that - the previous week's was so manifestly wrong that it became annoying. Where do they get these historians that strut around like peacocks trained at the ministry for silly walks?
